The verdict
The best-known aluminum-free drugstore deodorant: pleasant scents and a gentler new formula, but it controls odor, not sweat.
Native's Deodorant Stick is an aluminum-free deodorant that the brand says gives 72-hour odor protection; its upgraded formula uses magnesium oxide and piroctone olamine and is free of aluminum, parabens, phthalates and baking soda. It comes in a long list of scents, with Coconut & Vanilla the bestseller, in 2.65 oz and 3.1 oz sizes. Some creators and Reddit users call it a win for everyday odor, while others prefer rivals that keep them drier. As an aluminum-free deodorant it does not stop sweating, and at least one creator argues the brand has declined.

How it scored
Five factors, weighted for formulas. Here’s our working.
Beauty score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
Some creators and Reddit users call it a win for everyday odor, but as an aluminum-free deodorant it does nothing for wetness, and some find rivals keep them drier.
A short, baking soda-free formula using magnesium oxide and piroctone olamine is gentler on underarms than older natural deodorants, though it is still fragranced.
The brand describes a smooth, easy glide, and its large rotating scent range is a major draw in creator reviews.
$14 for 2.65 oz costs more than mass-market deodorants but less than most premium aluminum-free options, with frequent bundle discounts.
A mainstream favorite in aluminum-free deodorant, though some creators argue it has declined, with one video titled 'Don't buy Native deodorant!'

Native has been a win for me. I use their sensitive line since it is baking-soda free (had issues with the other) but they have reformulated this regular line to also be baking-soda free although I am too nervous to try it.
I randomly switched from their deodorant to Dove aluminum free around the same time … and Dove aluminum free is way better than Native deo and even keeps me drier.
