The verdict
The benchmark hydrocolloid pimple patch: flattens surfaced whiteheads overnight and stops picking, but does little for deep, closed bumps.
Mighty Patch Original is a drug-free, 12 mm medical-grade hydrocolloid patch designed to sit on a whitehead for 6–8 hours, absorbing fluid and shielding it from picking. Hero says it is derm-tested and suitable for sensitive skin, and cites Circana data naming it the top-selling US pimple patch. Dermatologists and creators consistently report flatter, less angry spots by morning. It works best on surfaced pimples with a head; reviewers find it far less useful on deep cystic or early-stage blemishes, which Hero targets with other patches.

How it scored
Five factors, weighted for formulas. Here’s our working.
Beauty score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
Dermatologist and creator tests show surfaced whiteheads flattened and drained overnight, while reviewers note little effect on deep or closed blemishes.
A simple, drug-free hydrocolloid that suits sensitive skin; it has no actives, so it protects and absorbs rather than treating the cause of breakouts.
Easy to apply and comfortable to sleep in; the original is visible on skin, so it is mainly a nighttime option.
At $12.99 for 36 patches (less per patch in the 72-count), slightly above generic hydrocolloid dots but cheap for a spot treatment.
A category benchmark, with Insider naming it its best overall spot treatment and a strong sales lead cited by the brand.

I like pimple patches, but how well they work depends on the kind of pimple. If it's already open, it'll drain them right up. If it's super deep, it won't do as much. Honestly, half the reason I like them is that they keep me from picking at the spot
They only work for me in that they keep me from messing with my hormonal cystic acne. But I’m actually ok with that! They probably work better for surface acne.
It’s awful! They turned my zits into awful deep mounds in my face. I rarely have any skin issues to begin with and the last time I used one it made the zit the width of a dime and lasted for 3 months.

FAQ
Hero says to peel it off after 6–8 hours, which is why it is usually worn overnight. The patch turns white as the hydrocolloid absorbs fluid from the blemish.
Reviewers find it works best on pimples that have come to a head. It is a drug-free hydrocolloid that absorbs surface fluid, so it does little for deep, closed bumps; Hero sells separate patches for early-stage blemishes.
No. Hero describes Mighty Patch Original as drug-free, with medical-grade hydrocolloid as the only key ingredient, and says it is suitable for sensitive skin.
Hero says the patches can be used on the nose, forehead, chin, back and elsewhere on the body. Apply to clean, dry skin so it adheres properly.
