The verdict
Dyson's Bluetooth-connected Airwrap automates the wrap, curl and cool-shot timing; the most effortless air curler, at a steep price.
The Airwrap i.d. is Dyson's 2024 update to its Coanda-effect multi-styler: a 1,300 W dryer-styler with interchangeable barrels and brushes, plus an i.d. curl button that runs a personalized wrap, style and cool-shot sequence set up in the MyDyson app. Reviewers praise how effortless and long-lasting the curls are, and its build quality. It suits frequent stylers who want curls without extreme heat. The caveats are a $649.99 price, curls that drop faster than tong curls, and a newer Airwrap Co-anda2x now on sale.

How it scored
Five factors, weighted for tools and devices. Here’s our working.
Tool score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
TechRadar found the i.d. curl sequence made curls effortless and longer-lasting than manual Airwrap timing, though curls still drop faster than tong curls.
Reviewers single out excellent build quality, Dyson backs it with a 2-year limited warranty, and attachments work across Airwrap generations.
One-button curling removes the timing guesswork, but setup requires the MyDyson app and Bluetooth pairing, and attachments must be swapped.
At $649.99 it costs far more than rivals such as the $349.99 Shark FlexStyle, and TechRadar scores its value 3.5 out of 5.
Heavily covered by creators and stylists with largely positive verdicts; newer comparison videos now weigh it against the 2026 Airwrap Co-anda2x.

It takes all the effort and guesswork out of creating curls and, as a result, styles tends to last longer.
Very expensive, but a clear step above alternatives in terms of both quality and features.

FAQ
The i.d. adds Bluetooth and an i.d. curl sequence: once a hair profile is set in the MyDyson app, sliding the power button up automatically times the wrap, styling and cool shot. Dyson says attachments are compatible across Airwrap generations.
Dyson says it is manufactured for the voltage of the country where it is sold and advises against using it with an adaptor abroad, since that may damage the machine.
Dyson sells a Straight+Wavy set with barrels and smoothing and volumizing brushes, and a Curly+Coily set aimed at textured hair. Both are listed at $649.99 on Dyson.com.
Dyson says its intelligent heat control keeps temperatures under 302°F to prevent extreme heat damage. Reviewers note results still vary by hair type.
