The verdict
A twist-to-convert dryer and Coanda multi-styler that does most of what an Airwrap does for about half the price; curls fade sooner.
The FlexStyle is Shark's original 5-in-1 air styler: a 1,600 W dryer that rotates into a styling wand, with 1.25-inch auto-wrap Coanda curlers, oval and paddle brushes and a concentrator in the HD430 set. Reviewers rate it a comfortable, well-built and far cheaper alternative to the Dyson Airwrap, with a standout paddle brush. It suits people who want one tool for blowouts and air curls. Testers found curls drop faster than tong curls, and the newer FlexStyle IonCurl adds features this model lacks.

Five factors, weighted for tools and devices. Here’s our working.
Tool score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
TechRadar's testers found the curlers work like an Airwrap's and the paddle brush excellent, but curls dropped much faster than tong curls.
TechRadar calls it well-built with sturdy attachments, and Shark covers it with a 2-year limited warranty.
Reviewers find it well balanced and comfortable with easy-to-reach controls, though curl direction requires swapping barrels.
At $349.99 it costs roughly half the Dyson Airwrap i.d.'s $649.99 while offering similar Coanda curling, which TechRadar calls an affordable Airwrap alternative.
One of the most-reviewed Airwrap alternatives on YouTube, from stylist Brad Mondo to one-year follow-ups, and some creators say they prefer it to the Dyson.

FAQ
Both use Coanda airflow to wrap hair around a barrel. TechRadar found the FlexStyle's curlers work like an Airwrap's and called it an affordable alternative, at $349.99 versus $649.99 for the Airwrap i.d., though its testers found styles could lack staying power.
Shark lists the styler plus two 1.25-inch auto-wrap curlers, an oval brush, a paddle brush and a styling concentrator. Other attachments such as a diffuser and wide-tooth comb are sold separately for $39.99 each.
Shark's comparison chart shows the IonCurl adds an AirSet pause button for curl release, scalp protection and supercharged airflow with 200 million ions, none of which the original FlexStyle includes.
Shark says it measures and regulates temperature 1,000 times per second to minimize heat exposure and markets it as styling with no heat damage.
