The verdict
A sweet-scented, silicone-based honey shine oil that fans love for gloss, though Reddit is split and rivals cost less.
Gisou's Honey Infused Hair Oil is a lightweight, silicone-led finishing oil with Mirsalehi honey, sweet almond, coconut, argan and passion flower seed oils. Gisou says it is clinically proven to boost shine, control frizz for up to three days and protect against heat up to 450°F. Fans praise the gloss and a honey scent they describe as not too strong, but Reddit opinion is split, with some users calling it sticky, heavy or ineffective on very frizzy hair. Its ingredient list is led by silicones, so it smooths and coats rather than treats. At $46 for 50 ml it costs more than many comparable shine serums.

How it scored
Five factors, weighted for formulas. Here’s our working.
Beauty score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
Fans report sleek, shiny, less tangly hair, while other Reddit users say it did little for frizz; the effect is mostly cosmetic coating from silicones.
Silicones do the heavy lifting with a small amount of honey and oils; effective for slip and shine, but less nourishing than its marketing suggests, with dyes and fragrance allergens.
The honey scent and how far a few drops go are frequent compliments, though some users describe the oil as sticky or heavy.
$46 for 50 ml is high for a silicone shine serum when similar drugstore and Japanese oils cost far less.
A widely known Sephora staple with a big social following, but Reddit opinion is split between loyal fans and users who call it average.

the gisou hair oil is actually really good, i got the mini in a set last year and it lasted forever. the honey smell is not too strong which i like
I really wanted to think it's mediocre because it's so pricy, but literally nothing worked this well on my hair. It's sleek, shiny (even after one week of use it was!), and doesn't tangle that much anymore.
The gisou hair oil isn’t my favorite it find it really sticky but maybe it would be okay if you have corse hair. I much prefer the verb one that is a similar price or the kerastase oil for more of a splurge.
As a truly frizzy girl- the gisou hair oil did nothing and just sat on my hair. I tossed it out after a few uses.
