The verdict
A fragrance-free, 100% mineral SPF 50 fluid with a sheer iron-oxide tint; easy to blend, though one shade won't suit everyone.
Anthelios Mineral Tinted Sunscreen SPF 50 (sold at Ulta as the Ultra Light Face Sunscreen Fluid) is La Roche-Posay's 100% mineral face sunscreen: 11% titanium dioxide in a thin, tinted fluid with iron oxides and the brand's Cell-Ox Shield antioxidant technology. It is fragrance-free, oil-free, non-comedogenic, water resistant for 40 minutes per Ulta and recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation. The original SPF 50 comes in one universal tint; the brand's newer Medium, Medium-Deep and Deep shades are a separate SPF 40 formula with added zinc oxide.

How it scored
Five factors, weighted for formulas. Here’s our working.
Beauty score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
SPF 50 from titanium dioxide alone, with iron oxides that dermatologists recommend for visible-light protection; the single original tint limits how well it disappears on deeper skin.
A fragrance-free, oil-free mineral formula with antioxidant support and Skin Cancer Foundation recommendation, though it relies on silicones and talc.
La Roche-Posay and Ulta describe a thin, non-greasy fluid that blends easily alone or under makeup; r/Rosacea users add that the tint can transfer onto towels and sleeves.
At $39.99 for 1.7 fl oz it costs more than drugstore mineral options but sits below many prestige tinted mineral sunscreens.
A long-standing dermatologist favorite and a frequent r/Rosacea pick for a tolerable tinted SPF that covers redness, with shade range and transfer the most common caveats.

I like that this sunscreen gives me broad-spectrum protection with the brand's Cell-Ox Shield technology. It also rubs in easily and it’s fast-absorbing.
I have used the La Roche-Posay Tinted Mineral Anthelios Light Fluid Sunscreen SPF 50. A dermatologist recommended it. It has not irritated my skin. But everyone is different.
La Roche Posay Anthelios Tinted is AMAZING. Lightweight, looks like you have a bit of makeup on. Works with many skin tones.
The LRP is my daily go to. It's not perfect, but it covers the redness and does a decent job covering up pimples.
the anthelios has a tinted version which I have tried and I found that it didn't look patchy if I sweated, but you have to be careful not to wipe your face or itll get skin color liquid on your towel or sleeve or whatever.

FAQ
Not exactly. The original Tinted shade is the SPF 50 formula with 11% titanium dioxide. La Roche-Posay's newer Medium, Medium-Deep and Deep shades use 17% titanium dioxide plus 8% zinc oxide and are sold at Ulta as an SPF 40 fluid.
Ulta's listing says it is water resistant for up to 40 minutes. Reapply after swimming or sweating and at least every 2 hours.
La Roche-Posay says the iron-oxide tint leaves a healthy glow without white cast when worn alone. With only one tint in the SPF 50 version, very fair or deep skin may find the color off.
Yes. La Roche-Posay lists it as fragrance-free, paraben-free, oil-free, non-comedogenic and oxybenzone-free.
