The verdict
The cult clear-gel primer sunscreen, now SPF 50: invisible on every skin tone and makeup-friendly, but pricey per ounce.
Unseen Sunscreen SPF 50 is the 2025 upgrade of Supergoop!'s best-selling clear gel sunscreen, replacing the long-running SPF 40 version. It is a silicone-based, scentless chemical-filter gel that dries to a natural, pore-blurring finish with no white cast and doubles as a makeup primer. A Strategist tester says the reformulation is less slippery and dries faster, and it holds the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation. The main caveat is cost: $38 for 1.7 fl oz is steep for daily use, and Reddit users name cheaper Trader Joe's look-alikes.

How it scored
Five factors, weighted for formulas. Here’s our working.
Beauty score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
Creators and Reddit users consistently report an invisible finish with no white cast on deep skin tones and good makeup grip; SPF 50 protection is backed by the Skin Cancer Foundation seal.
A conventional US chemical-filter set (avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, octocrylene) in a fragrance-free silicone base with soothing extras, but no standout skincare actives.
The weightless, scentless gel and primer-like velvety finish are the product's signature and the main reason people repurchase.
At $38 for 1.7 fl oz it costs far more per ounce than drugstore and Trader Joe's look-alikes that users name as dupes.
One of the most recommended invisible sunscreens on Reddit and YouTube, with price the most common complaint.

We are using whatever doesn’t flare my rosacea and doesn’t leaves a white cast as a brown woman. I’m a supergoop convert. Can’t go without unseen invisible gel.
