The verdict
Fenty's 50-shade successor to Soft Matte: a lightweight, waterproof natural-matte foundation with buildable medium coverage.
Pro Filt'r Fluid Flex is the foundation Fenty Beauty launched in September 2026 to replace its original Pro Filt'r Soft Matte, in 50 all-new shades with more neutral undertones. Fenty promises medium, buildable coverage, a natural matte finish, up to 12 hours of wear and resistance to creasing, sweat, humidity and transfer. Early editor reviews praise its light, skin-like feel, lack of oxidation and close shade matches, while noting some transfer and that drier areas need good moisturizing first.

How it scored
Five factors, weighted for makeup. Here’s our working.
Beauty score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
Editors at The Zoe Report and Marie Claire UK describe a lightweight, skin-like natural matte that builds from medium to full coverage without looking heavy or oxidizing.
Fenty claims up to 12 hours of waterproof wear and creators ran 11- to 14-hour wear tests, though one editor still found some transfer onto her laptop.
Fifty all-new shades with more neutrals, fine-tuned undertones and seven olive-leaning options, and editors from light to deep skin tones report close matches.
At $48 for 30 ml it is priced like other prestige long-wear foundations such as Estée Lauder Double Wear, with no drugstore-level savings.
Creator wear tests drew up to about 25,000 views within weeks of the September 2026 launch and editors are largely positive, but long-term community feedback is still thin.

The coverage is substantial—enough to even out pigmentation and redness without requiring much in the way of concealer—yet somehow it still looks fresh and natural rather than heavy or overly made-up.
It never felt heavy or mask-like, a major grievance I had with Soft Matte, even when it was built up from medium coverage (the baseline) to proper full.
My other qualm is that I wouldn’t quite describe it as transfer-proof: While it did have impressive staying power overall, I definitely found a few streaks of foundation on my laptop and notebooks.
I have to make sure the outer perimeter of my face is very well moisturized if I don’t want to look and feel dry.
My favourite foundations Macao (MD 4) by NARS(with warm olive undertones) (Natural Radiant and LightReflexing) and new 486W(warm bronze)(Pro Filt’r Fluid Flex Natural Matte Longwear Foundation) by Fenty.

FAQ
Fluid Flex replaces Soft Matte, which Fenty is phasing out. It uses a new polymer blend the brand calls Fluid Flex Foundation Technology and comes in 50 all-new shades with more neutrals, so Fenty says Soft Matte wearers will need to be rematched.
Fenty says the natural matte formula suits all skin types and hydrates skin for up to 12 hours. A combination-skin editor at The Zoe Report found she had to moisturize the outer areas of her face well to avoid a dry look.
No. Fenty says the formula has no SPF and no added fragrances, and suggests prepping with its Hydra Vizor SPF moisturizer for sun protection. It is also talc-free and vegan.
Fenty claims resistance to transfer, sweat and humidity with up to 12 hours of wear. The Zoe Report's tester found impressive staying power but some streaks of foundation on her laptop and notebooks, and recommends a light dusting of setting powder.
