The verdict
A pearly, tinted SPF 40 primer with a lit-from-within glow; lovely in thin layers, but shimmery at a true sunscreen dose.
Glowscreen SPF 40 is Supergoop!'s tinted, glow-boosting chemical sunscreen and primer, sold in four shades with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and light-reflecting pearls. It uses US-approved avobenzone, octisalate and octocrylene (plus homosalate in the three deeper shades) and is not water resistant. Chemist Michelle Wong of Lab Muffin found a full face dose looked metallic and texture-accentuating, while a primer-sized amount gave a beautiful glow. It suits glow-seekers who pair it with another sunscreen or apply it generously, not those wanting invisible protection.

How it scored
Five factors, weighted for formulas. Here’s our working.
Beauty score out of 10. Brands can’t pay for placement — ever.
Broad spectrum SPF 40 with a flattering glow, but Lab Muffin found a full protective dose looked metallic, which pushes many users toward under-applying.
Older US chemical filters plus an SPF booster, with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid; Supergoop!'s blue-light claim rests on cocoa peptides and is not a measured protection rating.
Creators praise the hydrating, luminous lotion as a makeup primer, though the pearl shimmer becomes heavy at sunscreen amounts.
At $38 for 1.7 fl oz it costs more than many drugstore tinted and glow sunscreens that dermatologist reviewers compare it with.
Who What Wear's 2026 tinted-sunscreen guide still ranks it best overall and creators keep reviewing it, tempered by Lab Muffin's critique that it works better as a glow primer than a primary sunscreen.

I actually prefer the texture of this during application compared to Unseen. It’s a lot easier to get the full amount onto my face! But after it dries down, it still feels very noticeable on my skin
At this use level, I looked properly metallic. It also really accentuated any texture I had on my skin
However, if I applied a tiny, primer-like amount, I ended up with a really beautiful glow without a noticeable tint.
It's not just that it offers an ethereal glow in every dollop or that it smooths and hydrates my dry, sensitive skin or that it's a class-act makeup primer that made me forget about the actual makeup primers I loved before.
It goes on smooth, feels light and barely there, and gives your skin a nice shimmery sheen … given that I don't usually wear makeup or anything with a shimmery look to it, this product ended up being a little bit too much for me.

FAQ
It is a broad spectrum SPF 40, so it protects if applied generously; the label says to apply evenly and reapply at least every 2 hours. Lab Muffin found the full amount looked metallic, so many people layer it over a separate sunscreen instead.
Chemical. Sunrise uses avobenzone, octisalate and octocrylene; the Dawn, Golden Hour and Sunset shades add 4% homosalate. Supergoop! sells a separate Mineral Glowscreen Soft-Radiance Drops for mineral fans.
No. The label says to use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating.
Supergoop! says cocoa peptides help filter blue light, but US sunscreen labels only rate UVB (SPF) and broad spectrum UVA protection. Lab Muffin calls the blue-light claims pretty dubious.
